  • Carpenters

    CarryOn is currently looking for multiple Carpenters who will be responsible for the delivery of either residential or commercial carpentry services to our clients.

    You will be based in Auckland but may also require working in Waikato and Bay of Plenty. This may require the need to travel away from home or relocate.

    This is a full-time permanent position. Wages are between $29.66 - $30 per hour and you will be guaranteed 30 hours per week.

    To be considered for this role, you should have the following:

    • Have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or similar experience associated with a trade or construction role
    • Have driver’s license class 1 and class 2 restrictions
    • Able to read and interpret plans
    • Can work unsupervised or part of a team
    • Can use variety of tools and power tools
    • Willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening
    • Calm, professional temperament with ability to cope in pressured environment

    General duties:

    • Read and interpret drawings (plans and blueprints)
    • Perform all aspect of construction
    • Follow specific instructions from site management
    • Construct wall and roof framing, floor joist, foundations, and bearers
    • Install wall cladding
    • Construct concrete formwork

  • Electrical Trade Assistants

    CarryOn is currently looking for Electrical Trade Assistants on various sites across Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Our office is located at 19 Ashfield Road, Wairau Valley 0627.

    Ideally you should have on site experience and be confident working alongside Trades people. This is great opportunity to join a large established team.

    This is a full-time permanent position. Wages are between $29.66 - $30 per hour and you will have a guaranteed 30 hours per week.

    To be considered for this role, you should have the following:

    • Good level of physical fitness
    • Good attitude & able to work as part of the team
    • Class 1 Driver’s license or willing to get one
    • Good Health and Safety Awareness
    • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
    • At least 1 year experience as Electrical Trade Assistant or in any related electrical jobs
    • Knowledge of safety procedures and first aid

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Use hand and power tools to complete electrical tasks assigned
    • General laboring roles which may include things such as site clean-up, lifting/moving of items and cutting/measuring to size
    • Conduct inventory of stocks at work sites, set up and store equipment and tools
    • Assist in the installation of wires, fault finding and maintenance
    • Perform variety of semi-skilled electrical construction
    • Repair electrical and testing of work
    • Assist in troubleshooting electrical system and replacing faulty components

  • Truck Driver

    CarryOn is currently looking for Truck Driver on various sites across Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions. Our office is located at 19 Ashfield Road, Wairau Valley 0627.

    Truck Driver duties will include:
    • Responsible in transporting materials like panels and tiles, wall cladding and steel roofing and other construction materials
    • Load and unload materials
    • Check vehicles regularly
    • Ensure that vehicles can be driven safely
    • Ensure that vehicles are clean and tidy
    • Ensure safety when loading and unloading materials
    • Ensure that the vehicle/truck is always fuelled and ready to use
    • Perform minor repair of the truck
    • Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
    • Keep up-to-date with any training for Health and Safety matters
    • Complete training to a satisfactory standard
    • Strictly adhere to Health and Safety Policies on all construction sites
    • Ensure that the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times while on construction sites and using power tools, i.e. H1H2 Clothing, Hard Hat, Safety Boots, Ear Protection, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Harnesses
    The ideal candidate will have:

    • At least 1 year of relevant experience
    • Hold an appropriate and clean Driver’s license
    • Physically fit and capable to lift heavy materials
    • Good navigation skills
    • Can operate a forklift
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of the mechanics
